Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026 · Nudge Labs Studio Ltd
We don't sell your data. We don't run ads based on your personal information. This policy explains clearly what we collect, why, and how to control it.
1. Who We Are
Bingeio is a UK streaming guide operated by Nudge Labs Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17265849). Our registered contact email is support@bingeio.com.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to provide the service:
- Email address — collected when you create an account, used solely to identify your account and send a one-time confirmation link. We do not send marketing emails.
- Watchlist, ratings, and streaming service preferences — titles you save, watch, or rate, and the services you select, are stored so the app works across sessions and devices. This data is stored via Supabase and linked to your account.
- Watch history summaries — when you use the Ask Bingie AI feature, a summary of your watch history (titles watched and star ratings) is sent to our AI provider (Mistral AI) to generate personalised recommendations. Your email address is never included in these requests.
- Device and server log data — your IP address, browser type, and pages visited may be recorded automatically by our hosting and CDN providers as part of standard web server operation.
- Crash reports, diagnostics, and app usage data — if the app encounters an error, or to help us understand how the app is used and performs, this is collected via Sentry (crash and error reports) and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings of clicks, scrolls, and page interactions, plus device and browser information). See Section 5 for details.
We do not collect your name, payment details, or any sensitive personal data. If you use Bingeio without creating an account, no email address is stored.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account (email address)
- To remember your watchlist and preferences across sessions and devices
- To generate personalised AI recommendations when you use Ask Bingie (watch history summary sent to Mistral AI)
- To convert AI responses to speech when you use the voice feature (text sent to ElevenLabs)
- To understand how the app is used so we can fix bugs and add features
- To respond to any support enquiries you send us
4. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Contract performance — processing your email address and account data to create and maintain the account you requested.
- Legitimate interests — storing your watchlist and preferences to deliver the core service; processing server logs for security and reliability. Our legitimate interest does not override your rights.
- Consent — where you choose to use optional features (Ask Bingie AI recommendations, voice playback) that involve sending data to third-party AI processors, you consent to that processing by using those features. You can stop at any time by not using those features.
5. Third-Party Processors and Services
Bingeio uses the following third-party services. Those marked (processor) receive personal data on our behalf; those marked (sub-processor) may receive data as part of infrastructure.
- Supabase (processor) — stores your email address, watchlist, ratings, and preferences. Data is stored on servers within the EU/EEA. See Supabase's privacy policy.
- Mistral AI (processor) — when you use Ask Bingie, a summary of your watch history (titles and ratings only — never your email) is sent to Mistral AI, a French company, to generate personalised recommendations. See Mistral's terms.
- ElevenLabs (processor) — when you use the voice playback feature, the AI-generated response text is sent to ElevenLabs (US) for text-to-speech conversion. ElevenLabs is subject to standard contractual clauses for international data transfers. See ElevenLabs' privacy policy.
- Vercel (sub-processor) — our hosting provider. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages visited) may be retained. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Sentry (processor) — used for crash and error reporting so we can find and fix bugs. When the app hits an error, Sentry automatically captures a report including the error details, diagnostic context (recent console output, network request activity, and the navigation steps leading up to the error), and your device and browser information. We do not deliberately send it your name or email address. Data is processed in the EU. See Sentry's privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity (processor) — used to understand how the app is used and where it can be improved, via session recordings of clicks, scrolls, and page interactions. Clarity collects device and browser information and sets its own cookies to recognise your browser/device across visits. We do not send it your name, email address, or account data. See Microsoft Clarity's data collection FAQ.
- TMDB (The Movie Database) — all film and TV metadata and images are provided by TMDB. We do not pass your personal data to TMDB. See their privacy policy.
- OMDb API — additional film metadata (ratings, plot summaries) is sourced from OMDb. We do not pass your personal data to OMDb.
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers. Your IP address may be logged by Google as part of this request. See Google's privacy policy.
- jsDelivr (CDN) — icon assets are served via jsDelivr. Your IP address may be logged as part of CDN delivery. See jsDelivr's privacy policy.
- Amazon Associates — some links to streaming services may include affiliate tracking parameters. Clicking these links may result in a cookie being set by Amazon. We may earn a small commission if you sign up to a service via these links, at no cost to you.
6. Cookies
Bingeio uses minimal cookies and local browser storage to:
- Keep you logged in across sessions
- Remember your preferences (e.g. filter settings)
Microsoft Clarity, our analytics provider (see Section 5), also sets its own cookies to recognise your browser/device across visits as part of its session-recording analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. Third-party affiliate links (e.g. Amazon) may set their own cookies when you click through; this is governed by their respective policies.
7. Data Retention
- Account data (email) — retained for as long as your account exists. Deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
- Watchlist, ratings, and preferences — retained for as long as you use the service. Deleted promptly on request.
- Server log data — retained by Vercel and CDN providers according to their own retention schedules, typically 30–90 days.
- AI request data — watch history summaries sent to Mistral AI are used only to process your request and are not stored by us beyond that request. Refer to Mistral's data retention policy for how they handle this.
8. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data in certain circumstances
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g. AI features), withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing
- Complain — lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@bingeio.com. We will respond within one calendar month as required by UK GDPR.
Delete your BingeIO account
You can delete your BingeIO account immediately, at any time, from within the app: open your account menu (tap your profile icon) and select Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and its data straight away — no waiting period.
If you can't access the app — for example, you're locked out of your account — you can instead request deletion by emailing support@bingeio.com from the email address associated with your account, asking us to delete your account. This is a request to delete your account specifically — not just a general data-erasure request — and we will treat it as such.
Deleting your account, either way, deletes your account and all associated personal and profile data, including:
- Your email address and login credentials
- Your watchlist
- Your watched history and star ratings
- Your streaming-service preferences ("My Subscriptions")
- Your recommendation and taste-profile data used by Ask Bingie
What we retain, and for how long: Deleting your account in-app removes your account data (email, watchlist, ratings, and preferences) immediately. An email request is instead actioned within 30 days of receipt, per Section 7 (Data Retention) above. Either way, the only thing that may persist afterwards is standard server log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) — this is retained by our hosting/CDN providers for up to 90 days as a routine technical and security byproduct of web hosting (see Section 5), not something we store against your account, and it is not linked to your Bingeio account once deleted. We do not keep backups of your account data beyond 30 days of deletion.
In-app deletion is confirmed immediately within the app itself. For email requests, we will confirm by email once your account and associated data have been deleted.
9. Children's Privacy
Bingeio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. Continued use of Bingeio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
